Earlier, I mentioned the need to replace Chilli's front carburettor insulator.  While the SUs were removed, I fabricated an improved heat shield (similar to the one made for Kermit last year using aluminium-sandwiched ceramic material from ACL).  The ceramic shield is very easy to form by hand and works very well.  Pictures below.

First picture shows the "B" type inlet manifold over an "A" exhaust manifold. Second shows the huge crack in the insulator that permitted air to flow in.  Third & fourth show the cleaned & freshly painted original "B" type shield riveted to the new ceramic shield (top and bottom views).
