One memorable summer day in 1976, I noticed a beautiful MGA roadster parked by the curb.  I had never had a close look at an "A" before.

It looked like it was doing 80 mph just sitting there.  This was a car with character and style, featuring lots of curves.  Absent was the dominant ugly plastic interior of modern cars.  In its place was steel, leather,  MG emblems and chrome .... it was a young man's dream car.

I desperately needed a very good reason to stick at my studies at the time and this was it. I was hooked and I set myself an immediate goal to work hard enough to eventually own one of those fantastic roadsters.

Above is a photograph of "Kermit", the MGA 1600 that I bought in early 1989 and restored with lots of help from my mate Martin most evenings and weekends over the following 18 months.
