There is one noise that I definitely don't like hearing .... a water pump rattle, because the repair job usually results in a few skinned knuckles & expletives (radiator stays in) or a hour or two draining, unbolting, carefully removing & later replacing & refilling the radiator.  Being an impatient sod and wanting to get our new family member back on the road in time for a previously scheduled morning run, I decided against dinner, opted for a coffee and set to it.  Pictures below.
